Agree it should be strictly under 21 or under 23.
Otherwise we could play Ogbonna, Payet and Zaza (for instance) which would be close to €50m on 3 players. Not really fair is it?

I like the fact they're trying something different to improve the standard of young players at prem academies. This is due to yet another failure in a major tournament by England. Something had to be done. I didn't know Chelsea were given special treatment and if true that's wrong but something had to change.

The Johnstones Paint Trophy as was was always just a chance for small clubs to get to Wembley
I would have had a vote amongst all Football league clubs before allowing Premier league clubs in.
And if they do play it should be a strict u21 team with no overage players.
That said I hope we thrash Coventry

Joke compeititon. Seperate rules to cater for the U23 teams - eg, Chelsea playing their ties two weeks after everyone else. Bottom line is EFL went against majority opinion to allow the U23 clubs in. Even most of the top PL clubs wanted nothing to do with it.
If I was a Coventry fan I'd be fucking it off as well.

I had a vision of Zaza being crippled by an Italian squad scrote so that's good news he's been left out.
I expect Spiegel will return to the u-23s although I hear Nathan Trott our 17 year old Bermudan goalkeeper is impressing so far this season.

Also Chelsea's games are a week after everyone else's due to Europe (?) otherwise they wouldn't have entered.
